Book Tag; Autumn Activities Book Tag

I came across the Autumn Activities Book Tag over at Portobello Book Blog and I decided to participate as it looked like a fun tag to do.

Apple Picking - A book on your TBR that looks so delicious you can’t wait to take a bite out of it.
A book in my TBR that I'm really looking forward to read has to be The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.

Corn Maze - A book that’s so much fun to get lost in.
If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio is a good one to get lost in.

Haunted Houses - A book that scared you silly.
I don't get scared easily, but The Woman in Black by Susan Hill creeped me out a bit due to the atmosphere in the book and her writing style.

Pumpkin Patch - The latest book you picked up (purchased).
My most recent book purchase is Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami.

Scenic Drives - A book that is lyrically beautiful.
On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong is a good one. It's not for everyone, but I really enjoyed reading it.

Pumpkin Carving - A book you didn’t like and wouldn’t mind carving up.
For me, it has to be Hunchback by Saou Ichikawa.

Hiking - A book that was a highly enjoyable romp.
A short story collection I really enjoyed was Swords, Sorcery, & Self-Rescuing Damsels edited by Lee French

Drinking Apple Cider - A sweet book to curl up under the covers with.
I'm usually not one for romance novels, but The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling is a sweet book to pick up.

Jumping In A Leaf Pile - A book that reminds you of your childhood.
One of my favourite books from my childhood is Ronja the Robber's Daughter by Astrid Lindgren, but there's so many books that I enjoyed as a kid.

Scary Movie Night - Your favourite spooky read.
As I've got a weak spot for spooky books, it's hard to pick, but one of my more recent favourites is The Reformatory by Tananarive Due. It's honestly at times more heartbreaking than spooky due to the human horror elements in it, but it's important those stories are told and not forgotten about.

Bonus! Costume Party - A book with an eclectic cast of characters.
The Vine Witch trilogy by Luanne G. Smith probably fits the bill for this one, even if it's a trilogy and not a standalone book. Also, the book covers are absolutely beautiful.
