I've been thinking about something behind the scenes a bit, and I decided to do some changes and take things in a new direction on this book blog.
As I've got a huge backlog of unread books in various genres, I decided I wanted to do a deep dive, and go through my TBR genre by genre (or topic, all depending). It's in part in order to make a proper dent into my TBR, but also highlight books in a new way of sorts.
The first genre(s) I'll be focusing on, are mystery, crime, and thriller fiction, and read my way through the unread books in those genres, and as they share some similarities, I felt I could do those together. Sometimes there's even an overlap.
This also enables me to highlight both more popular books and hidden gems within a genre without too much difficulty. Also, while I have nothing against bookish content creators talking about new releases, I'll for the most part feature slightly older releases, as they deserve some love too. Let's face it - while most people can agree that a three month old lettuce in the fridge is more suitable for the bin rather than consumption, books are a bit different in that sense.
If this little project goes well, I'll do the other genres on my TBR in the future. At the very least I can try it out and see how it goe.
