Book Tag; The Book Acquiring Tag

I came across The Book Aquiring Tag over at Shelley Reads A Lot and as it looked like a fun tag to do, I decided to participate.

Here's the questions.

1. Do you plan your book purchases ahead or impulse buy?
For the most part, I plan my purchases ahead, but occasionally, I do an impulse buy (if I can afford it).

2. How do you decide what books to buy?
No matter what, the book has to sound interesting and within a genre I enjoy if I were to even consider buying it. There's after all no point in buying a book "just because".

3. What is your philosophy on where you shop? Online vs in person- large vs small- physical, digital or audio- new vs used? etc.
While I prefer buying books in brick and mortar-stores, there's only one "proper" bookstore where I live and sadly, it rarely has anything of interest for me, so I often rely on online stores like Adlibris (nope, not buying from Amazon if I can avoid it). Whenever I am in Stavanger, I do stop by Outland and Løvaas Bruktbu to see if I can find anything I like though. That said, no matter where I buy my books, I prefer them to be physial copies, either new or used.

4. What about little free libraries? What do you think about them? Have you used one? Why or why not?
I do think little free libraries are rather neat, but I haven't used any yet, as there's none within walking distance.

5. How do you feel after acquiring a book? Do you share - like in a book haul or diary?
I'm always conent after acquiring a book (or several), but I rarely boast about it online. I might tell a couple of my friends and/or post a quick photo on my personal FB, but that's usually it.

6. How do you feel looking at your books that haven’t been read? Does it matter if it’s currently a lot or little amount?
I sometimes joke that I've got a TBR Mountain of Doom with all my unread books, but on the other hand, I also live a bit by this quote by Luc van Donkersgoed;
"Think not of the books you've bought as a 'to be read' pile. Instead, think of your bookcase as a wine cellar. You collect books to be read at the right time, the right place, and the right mood."
7. How do you decide what number of unread books is the right amount?
While I try my very best to read more books than what I buy, I honestly don't really decide on what number of unread books that is the so-called "right" amount.

8. Do you have a TBR game or process for reading them?
I do participate in some reading challenges and readathons this year, and make my TBR pile(s) based on those in order to make a dent, as well as writing monthly/seasonal TBR lists, but aside from that, I'm reading whatever strikes my fancy at any given time as I'm a bit of a mood reader.

9. Do you have a book buying problem? If so what is the nature of it? And can it be adjusted?
I wouldn't say that I've got a book buying problem as I shockingly enough can go several months without buying any at all.

10. Tag two or three others to ponder their book buying process!
I'll do it fairly easy - if you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged.
