Book Review; The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Earlier this year, I read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon after it being on my TBR for several years and today I'll post my review of the book.

Description from Goodreads
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a murder mystery novel like no other. The detective, and narrator, is Christopher Boone. Christopher is fifteen and has Asperger's, a form of autism. He knows a very great deal about maths and very little about human beings. He loves lists, patterns and the truth. He hates the colours yellow and brown and being touched. He has never gone further than the end of the road on his own, but when he finds a neighbour's dog murdered he sets out on a terrifying journey which will turn his whole world upside down.

My Thoughts on the Book
I have to agree with Christopher in that dogs are important, and anyone who touches me deserves to get punched. Anyway, this is a curious book in a sense, and it's as much about Christopher overcoming challenges, if not more, than the mystery of the dog, even if there's a surprise about who did it. Both the plot/story and the characters are well-written and with depth, which is always a good thing. The whole taking the train dragged perhaps a bit, but it also shows just how much of a task some things can be for someone on the spectrum.

Overall, it was a well written book, but I just didn't quite vibe with it of sorts. That's more of a "me"-thing than anything else though.
